Explosion in my kitchen

Ayayay!  It’s really true that without proper planning, most probably failure is waiting at the end.

I was cooking dinner earlier with two kinds of dish on my mind: pork adobo and lechon kawali.  Adobo won over and as the pork was on the stewing process, I decided I’ll switch to lechon kawali.  I took the pork pieces and drained them, and placed them on a hot cooking oil and KABOOM! It was like I was transported to Iraq!  The pork pieces were exploding!

My sleeping girl was awakened by the loud noises coming from the fried pork.  I could already hear her crying and coming to my direction fast. Oh no!  The kitchen was too dangerous for her.  I covered the pan quickly and turned off the stove.  That’s it.  I ended the frying coz oily moisture dripping from the cover was going to the stove top and it was creating smoke.  I’ll investigate how to avoid the pork fat from exploding, so next time I can do it right.  My daughter was amused at the booming sound. Hehehe Good thing it didn’t scare her.
