SOS
August 11, 2008When I was in Finland, the song SOS by The Jonas Brothers was played excessively on Disney Channel. My little nephew caught the SOS bug; the song eventually became his favorite. He likes to sing it all the time, even if he doesn’t know the lyrics fully well.
Anyway, on a different note but still on SOS, I got an email from long-time neighbor. She was asking financial help for her daughter’s tuition. With a husband who lost his job last month and many kids to spend for, they can’t afford to pay for the midterm fees. Part of her letter says:
“I know you are the right person to approach.I am looking for somebody who could sponsor my daughter.
Please help me.”
I wonder what made her think that I am THE person to approach. But knowing that we’re not really that close (though are moms are the best of friends), I can imagine how urgent her need is.
