Last Sunday, the Filipinos in Czech Republic celebrated the 110th Philippine Independence Day at the grounds of The Infant Jesus of Prague Church.
It kicked off with a Mass celebration at 12 noon and followed by a short program; welcome speech of the Ambassador, Carmelita Salas, singing of the national anthem of the Philippines and the Czech Republic and a song rendition from the choir. After which there was a salo-salo (party) and then games for both adults and kids alike.
It was a simple celebration but what matters most is that the freedom which our ancestors and heroes have fought for years ago still remains. It’s truly great to be free!
