What summer can do

The hot weather is driving people to the beach and cool places like the malls.  But if you’re a homebody, hiding inside your cool air-conditioned room is another way to escape the scorching summer heat or take shower every two hours! Hehehe Imagine the number of clothes piling in the laundry!

During this hot season, we have lots of dirty laundry to be washed.  The washing machine is one of the busiest appliances at home.  It’s great to have an automatic washing machine which you can just leave while you do other stuff like making yourself a tall cold glass of mango shake or while reading washer reviews online.

Anyway, summer will soon be over.  It has even been raining on some days; a sign that rainy season is coming. Soon there will be less people in the beaches.  Less use of air-condition units or fans, and less laundry to wash!

The malls in our city had summer sale last May 1 till the weekend.  It was a good chance for shoppers to save money on their shopping purchases.  We were in one of the malls the day before the grand sale and already bought some stuff.  We agreed to return the next day to buy some more and avail of the discounts but we were already too lazy to go out.  I’m sure the malls were jampacked with shoppers on those days especially since May 1 was a holiday.

Like everyone else, we’re fond of shopping during mall sale.  There are lots of great bargains but the only downside is the crowd.  The crowd makes me dizzy!  That’s something you don’t experience when you shop online.

The month of May has just started but the flowers in our garden are already in full bloom.  What a pretty sight! Two more days till I’ll get my new passport!  We have to travel to Iloilo again, which means waking up early in the morning.  Oh well, I’m used to that anyway.  I just hope my little girl will sleep nicely on Thursday night so I don’t feel sleepy the next day. Grabe, even when we chose the expedited passport processing, it still took a month to get the new one.   If you have it processed in Manila, it will take only 9 days but geeee I’d rather have it done in Iloilo where there is less traffic and pollution.

Parents, beware of bad nannies!

A news feature on NBC showed a video recorded by a hidden camera of a nanny who was mishandling the baby twins left on her care. 

It was terrifying how this bad nanny treated the babies.  She left the babies unattended on the couch without any safety barricade.  The baby was only few inches away from the edge! What if the baby rolls down? And many times it showed how she was holding the babies, by their clothes and flop them on the couch like they’re dolls.  All of her misbehavior was caught on the nanny camera installed by the twins’ parent.

That’s one reason why I don’t want to trust my little girl with other people especially with strangers whom I don’t know if they’re capable enough to take care of her.  I’m glad I don’t have to leave my baby at home with other people coz my work allows me to do it anytime, anywhere. But for those working parents, the best thing they can do is hire a competent nanny to watch over their kids.  And if you want to keep watch on how your kids are treated by their nanny/nannies while you’re away, a nanny camera is a good spy for you.
