November just passed like a blur. It had been a good month.
November 10
Thank God for this day!
It was my beloved dad's birthday. He turned 71. In contrast to the big party we threw for him last year, this year was strictly for family only (meaning his brothers with their family), though mom invited some selected friends. Martin and I attended the 9am Mass as our little gift for dad, thanking God for dad's life and asking to bless him with more years.

That night, we had a dinner with dad Karel and his friends at Sonora, a Mexican restaurant to celebrate his’ and Martin's name days. I was a bit apprehensive about meeting them … I imagined a boring night, listening to another alien conversation. But I was relieved when I learned they speak English. I actually enjoyed the company and was amused with their questions like…"In your country, do you also go out to dinner or just cook at home?… "I read that people in your country hang themselves in the cross during Easter…" Yes, we do go out for dinners (surprisingly we have restaurants too) and there are a few people who thinks hanging and flagellating themselves would actually save them from damnation. Different folks, different strokes.
All of us except A made disastrous mistakes with our food choices. M ordered pepper steak which was very spicy! Good thing he has the cold beer to cool his burning tongue. Dad ordered fajitas, which unknown to him, was good for two persons. He wasn't able to finish his meal. Martin and I ordered Plato Geronimo - a plate of tacos, cheese quesadillas, tortillas, chimichanga, fajitas, salsa, guacamole and cream, which in the menu said was good for two persons, but dang! It can feed like 6 people! The garnish (of olives, peppers, lettuce and tomatoes) alone was enough to fill my tummy. Even a pacman like Mart wasn't able to wipe out our fare. It was just too much!

The real tequila…
After what seemed like a torture dinner (stuffing our tummies with the huge servings which never seem to ran out till we can eat no more), the waiter sweet-talked us to try their authentic tequila. He said the real tequila doesn't need salt and lemon, which are actually used to hide the disgusting taste of the fake tequila. Is it? So it means I have been drinking fake tequilas back then huh?
How did it taste? So mexican! hehe it was spicy (just like the food) and has a light, clear taste.
Getting Paid for Blogging
I thought that after a tiring day and night of alcohol, I would be sleeping like a log when I get home. Instead, I was awake all night (and the next night). No amount of tossing and turning would lull me to sleep. So I went online, and to my surprise, I received my first assignment from B2P.
My usually post-drained blog was sprouting with one post after another. I actually wrote 10 in less than a week!

Ahhhh… I planned to keep a low-profile (oh, don’t misunderstand me, I just meant not exposing myself to big gatherings of Filipino community) here in Prague, but with my new-found friends elected into positions in the Filipino community, I couldn’t miss their induction day at the Phil. Embassy - Eva as the president, Marielle as the treasurer, and Lilian as the auditor. Ngilgig!

Okay just few days ago, Marielle told me that there’s an upcoming Christmas party two Sundays from now. To attend or not to attend? That’s the question.
Spending nights…
watching Lost – the US TV series (with Czech subtitles). Too bad, we finished it sooner. We couldn't hold ourselves from the suspense of what's going to happen next to our evening buddies Jack, Kate, (funny name-calling) Sawyer and the rest of the gang , so we watched a couple (or more) of episodes each night. I learned a few Czech words from watching the series.

• Lovers in Prague (LIP) - it's a Koreanovela with Prague’s beauty in the backdrop. I was able to download 4 episodes, and I stopped (we used up 9.30 GB so far). I'm too afraid to be blamed if our internet speed turns into turtle-pace again.

We got an email from Dad yesterday. He found us a flat near our present location, fully-furnished with a reasonable rental rate. And… dad has a tempting offer! He would pay for the rent for 11 months with a dinner treat in the Mexican restaurant (again). I hope we won't make the same mistake with our food choices. Har har

Sounds like “Lovers in Paris”, a Koreanovela that really hit it big in the television sometime last year here in the Philippines. So, it’s not only in the Philippines that Filipinos go gaga over these Korean thing. Not only that, Koreans are invading the Philippines as tourists and students.
