This is one dish that my mom cooked for us few years back, more like long time ago and has been forgotten. Then one day, SNAP! it just came out of my memory box and I was like hmmm how can we forget this yummy dish? Perhaps blog hopping at EJ's or KT's site (where they have been cooking beans lately) helped revived the memory.
Here's what you'll need:
For marinade:
crushed cloves of garlic (the more, the better!)
pinch of salt
soy sauce (just enough to cover the meat)
160 grams beef, sliced into thin strips
3 cloves garlic, crushed
1 large-sized onion, sliced
salt to taste
1 T soy sauce
2 cups water
about 10 strings of beans
7 small sized saba banana
Bananas diagonally cut into halves and beans also
diagonally cut 2-3 inches long.
Marinate the beef with salt, soy sauce and garlic (the longer, the better for the meat to absorb the marinade's flavor but 1 hour would do). While marinating, fry the bananas in cooking oil until they turn golden yellow. Set aside.
Sautee garlic and onions in a skillet. Add the marinated beef, excluding the marinade. Add salt (to taste), soy sauce and 2 cups water. Cook in a moderate heat until the beef becomes soft. Place the beans, cook until its tender but still crisp. Add the bananas few minutes before turning off the fire.

The sweet taste of banana wonderfully blended with the flavorful beef and crisp green beans.
I asked mom what's its name but she doesn't know. She can't even recall where she learnt it. For lack of any creative name I could conceive, I'm naming it for now "nameless dish". Ugh! What a disgusting name! hehe
semi-pochero? hehehehe kase may banana eh
bleue: bakit di ka kumakain ng beef? vegetarian ka ba?
